Rose Montoya

Rose Montoya (she/they) has advocated for Queer, Trans, Latina, Deaf and Hearing Impaired communities, and survivors of sexual violence to her social media audience of over 900K people as well as in publications including TIME, Feminist, and Washington Post, to prestigious audiences such as the White House Press Club and Yale, and on networks such as LATV, CNN, and FX Networks. She graduated with a BA in Film and a minor in Women and Gender Studies, from Seattle University when she was only 19 years old. In 2021, she was named one of the OUT100 most influential LGBTQ+ people. In 2022, she was nominated by Queerty as TikToker of the Year. In 2023, she generated national attention by surviving a coordinated Far-Right media attack following Pride celebrations at the White House that resulted in widespread doxing, harassment, and online violence. Rose proudly stands in a long line of feminist activists and powerful outcasts who have been shunned by the state for their bodies and sexuality and have stood firmly and authentically as they’ve advocated for the well-being of the most marginalized members of society.
