Regina Y. Hicks

Regina, a native of Savannah, Georgia, and ABJ/MFA graduate of the University of Georgia, has spent her career writing for television. Regina currently Executive produces and showruns a sitcom, she created, titled The Upshaws, which is currently in production for its fourth season at NETFLIX. She has also directed several episodes over the seasons.

Before The Upshaws, Regina was also a writer and Co-Executive. Producer of SHOWTIME’S drama, The LWord- Next Gen and HBO’s comedy Insecure. Regina’s writing credits also include the sitcoms: The Mayor, Marlon, Girlfriends, Sherri, State of Georgia, Instant Mom and the  TV remake Uncle Buck.

Regina has also co-scripted several Made-For-TV movies, including-- Jump In, Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2 for the Disney Channel, and the VH1 Television movie; Drumline 2 – A New Beat. Most recently, she co-scripted the new Sister Act 3 for Disney.
